Social safety in sports participation

We are committed to a safe and respectful sporting environment, so everyone can enjoy sports.

A safe sporting environment for everyone

If you are playing in the Dutch Little League and you experience something that doesn’t feel right, or if you are unsure whether something crosses a line, we encourage you to talk about it or report it. At Little League Netherlands, we have Erika Dechamps as our confidential contact person, and she is there specifically to listen and to help.

There is also the Meldpunt Integriteit (Integrity Reporting Centre), where you can share your concerns or report cases of inappropriate behaviour or integrity issues. Together, we are working towards a safe and respectful sporting environment, so that everyone can continue to enjoy playing the game.

What counts as inappropriate behaviour is something you decide yourself. You know when behaviour crosses a line. This can include bullying, intimidation, discrimination, aggression, violence, or sexual harassment. Issues such as doping, match-fixing, abuse of power, and fraud are also considered integrity violations and can be reported to the Integrity Reporting Centre (Meldpunt Integriteit).

In the NK Little League codes of conduct, we clearly describe how we expect everyone in our sport to treat one another. Specific rules of conduct have been created for each target group. These codes form the foundation of a safe sporting environment. Would you like to know more?

Are you experiencing inappropriate behaviour, or do you see it happening to someone else? Do not keep it to yourself. Speak up! You can always turn to the confidential contact person (VCP) of your club. The VCP is the first point of contact for anyone with questions or concerns about inappropriate behaviour. You can also talk to a board member of your club.

If this does not help or is not an option, you can directly contact the confidential contact person of NK Little League.
