A VOG is a certificate that shows your (judicial) record does not present an obstacle to carrying out a specific task or role in society.
Why Little League Netherlands considers a VOG important:
At Little League Netherlands, we place great importance on the safety and well-being of our players. For everyone who works as a volunteer within our organization and has contact with vulnerable groups, such as children and young people, a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is essential. A VOG shows that a person has no criminal record, or that their record does not prevent them from carrying out their role as coach, trainer, umpire, or volunteer.
Who checks a VOG?
The assessment and issuance of a VOG are carried out by Justis, the authority responsible for screening. Thanks to the Free VOG Scheme, volunteers can apply for this certificate at no cost. This lowers the threshold and allows us at Little League Netherlands to actively contribute to a safe and protected sporting environment, without additional financial burden for our volunteers.
For everyone’s safety:
We encourage all our volunteers to apply for a VOG and in doing so make a joint contribution to a safe and trustworthy atmosphere within our teams and the organization. By presenting a VOG, we strengthen the trust between players, parents, and volunteers, and together we build a tournament in which sportsmanship and safety are central.

Coaches and trainers hold a position of trust in which they work closely with young athletes, not only to guide them in sport but also to contribute to their well-being and personal development. Umpires also play an important role in ensuring fairness and safety during games, often being in direct contact with young people. A VOG helps to create a safe and honest environment in which these professionals can have a positive impact.
